Today, we at the Aquila Project are setting aside additional time in order to pray.  We will be praying for our partners here in the States, as well as our many friends and co-workers across Asia.  Would you be willing to set aside a few extra minutes on Friday to lift up this ministry?  If so, you will find prayer requests from our team member across Asia below.  These are some of the bravest and most innovative leaders in our world today and we consider it a privilege to lift them up in prayer.  I am copying their prayer requests unedited:

Our prayer requests are

1. Pray that God will intervene the situation in Myanmar.

2. Pray that IMCP mission trip on December 26-30.

3. Pray that God will allowed us to hold aquila project in Myanmar and encourage the workers and pastors.

Your brother

Thomas (Aquila National Director in Myanmar/Burma)

Greeting from Cambodia! It is good to hear your prayer for us as your ministry partners. Thank you for your prayer and support us for many years. I will join you for a special day of prayer.
Pray for Aquila Project continueing in Cambodia.

Pray for Mini Aquila and Topic preparations.

Pray for CBU´s goal for the next 5 years. We want to reach 1000 churches in 2012. Aquila and Mini Aquila will be our supported project for leadership development so that they can complete the amazing things for the Lord in Cambodia.

Pray for CBU ´s orphanage. We want to feed 30 orphans in 2008.

In this December I was invited by 52 Baptist Church to attend their Christmas service. It make me busy this month and travel a lot. Pray that I could have some fund when attending any Christmas.

Your brother,

Nivath (Aquila National Director in Cambodia)

Thanks for the information of the prayer day. I will
join the prayer together with you. Two prayer request
from me:

1. Pray for Matilda’s parents in order to recover from
damage by the cyclone SIDR.
2. Last year you provided some blankets for the people
in one of the mountain village in my ministry areas.
You my share your part as I am interested to join you
in prayer that day.

Your brother
Hemanta Chakraborty (Aquila National Director Bangladesh)

Challenges for Myanmar to pray for:
1.      The ruling Military Junta Government.
2.      Strong Resistance to the Gospel by closing down Children Homes,
Distribution of Gospel Tracts and House meetings not allowed.
3.      New Church buildings are not allowed except those who have
Greenland, meaning those churches that have been registered before the
Military Junta.
4.      Those who meet for House meetings are called and forced to sign an
agreement that they will not meet to worship again.

5.      Christian Literature - We are not allowed to import any Christian
Literature. For printing or publishing, we need Government’s approval.
However, we are not allowed to use the Biblical word but given another
word that shallows the meaning based on the understanding of Buddhism.
For example
the word “Eternal God-Thawara Phaya” is not allowed to
use. Instead it is used as “Phaya” meaning “God.”
6.      Economic poverty - 80% of the total population are cultivators. Due
to poverty many have immigrated, and some women have become commercial
sex workers in abroad.
7.      Christians cannot join the Myanmar army and Christian government
employees are not promoted.
8.      Child Labor - Though child labor is denied verbally but practically
we see many children working at the roadside tea stalls and serving in
the army.
9.      Human Rights violated in the way the government treats the
prisoners especially.

10.     Educational system - Poor quality of education due to constant
change of syllabus within three years since 1967 till date.
11.     Constitution of Myanmar - Since the present government has
cancelled the 1947 and 1974 Constitutions, we have not yet framed one.
May God be with you in your prayer time.
Thanking you
In Christ,
John B (Aquila Partner and head of indigineous mission organization in Myanmar)
